Thank you for the sharing the additional sections of the Karmasutra book. I also read the sections of deeds, tapasya, kleshas, koshas along with the chapter on the circle of life in the book.
The revised version explores more as to why human beings / living entities act the way they do, how karma plays out for them and the spiritual consequences of those actions/inactions. The USB metaphor is an effective way to view "storage of karmic data" and" transportable karmic wealth" from life to life.
There were many aha! moments (avidya to vidya, tapasya by taking on fasts or mental anguish, exhaustion of karma through dreams) and moments where I laughed inside my head (CCTV camera moment). Even just awareness of this spiritual jargon is knowledge to begin with and with practice, spiritual growth is within our grasp. There were many questions in my head while reading the revisions and the answers to many of them came in strange ways from the text itself !
However, few questions remain that are intriguing, and the answers may or may not be easily attainable or understood but here they are anyway. - Why do individual souls, life forms- exist in the first place ? If we all belong to the One Supreme Consciousness, then why is there the division of the souls to enjoy and suffer and navigate this karmic test? - Can one ever have a zero karmic balance sheet and chose to stay away from the realm of Maya where karmic rules apply or do they still have come back?
I am sure by rereading the book and more research, answers will come along the way and life will start to make more sense. Looking forward to new additions to the book.
